Notices & Assignments

Except for the sort order, Notices & Assignments work exactly like other "Content Blocks".  Only the sort order is discused here.  See the section on Managing Content Blocks for the rest of the details.

Adding New Notices and Assignments

When you add new "Notices" or new "Assignments", the new ones appear at the top of the page. The rest are displayed in reverse chronological order.

Changing Sort Order

Go into the edit mode to change the sort order.

1 - Make sure you login first.

2 - Click on the link or tab for the page you want to edit. In this clase click the "Assignment Tab".

3 - Click the "Edit" link under the "content block" you want to edit.

4 -A new "Edit Content Block" window will open.

5 - The date is stored in two formats.  The "Display Date" is the date displayed on the page for the student to see.  The "Sort Date" is what is used to determine the order to display the "content blocks".  If you change one date, change the other as well.  Since computers sort data by comparing characters left to right, it is important that the order of year, month, day, hour, minute, and seconds be retained.  The year is four digits.  All other values must be two digits.  For example, January must be entered as 01 - otherwise the sort will not work correctly.

6 - Make any other changes as described in the section "Edit a Content Block".

7 - After making all the changes, click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the window.

8 -You will see a message indicating that the update has been completed.  This window should close in 5 seconds, if it does not, close it yourself.

9 - To see the changes, click on the link or tab for the page that you changed. In this case click the "Assignment Tab" to see the changes.
